Price guards

Every price read is checked twice before a trade can use it: the spread must be narrow enough, and the mid must sit close to an independent Hyperliquid reference price. Either check failing rejects the trade.

The checks

spreadBps = (ask − bid) / mid × 10^4            ≤ maxSpreadBps
devBps    = |mid − ref| / ref × 10^4             ≤ maxDevBps
ref = markPx (0x…0806) or oraclePx (0x…0807), per market
0 turns a check off (target parity)

How they were chosen

From repeated samples of each book at deploy time: each limit is at least three times the worst value seen, so normal trading is not blocked. On testnet the mid can sit tens of basis points from the oracle price, so testnet markets compare against the mark price instead.

Drawdown breaker and minimum hold

  • Breaker: if the pool loses more than 20% of its value in one market within an hour (and at least $250,000), new opens in that market halt.
  • Minimum hold: an optional number of blocks before a profitable close (0 on BTC; off).

Values on this page are read from the HyperEVM mainnet deployment (chain 999, block 48891965) at build time.
