Martingaler pool
Overview
Toro's pool follows the Martingaler idea: a house that needs no starting capital and no bet limit, because it pays winners from a queue funded by later losers, and pays losers in tokens that claim its future revenue.
Why this mechanism
A classic house needs a funded bankroll before the first bet, and caps bets to protect it. This design starts from zero: if the house cannot pay a winner now, it owes them, in order, and every new loss repays the oldest debt first.
Per trade
Why the tokens matter
The house keeps an edge on wins (the impact haircut), so on average traders lose. Rebate tokens hand part of that edge back to the losers who built the pool: 100 per $1 at the start, a claim on the pool’s fees and surplus once staked. See Rebate token.
What is not implemented
The original paper also covers yield on idle collateral and tradeable queue claims. Neither is part of Toro; queue claims are not transferable.
